Tips to help save your child overweight obesity

I received an email from a woman the other day who has two boys who are overweight are about to reach puberty. She is overweight and wants three of them to find a way to beat it now before the boys are much older. Having been an overweight teenager, I know the horror and humiliation of a young child feels when they do not fit into the current styles, can not keep up with other children physically, and are the brunt of fat jokes. This is not a place be fun.

My parents do not know how me and I did not know how to seek help. I would have perhaps because I would have found ways to break my bad habits way back then instead of waiting until my late forty.

Helping someone deal with something you never experienced yourself is hard, or even if you have experienced, your reaction may not be the best. My father was Chubby around thirteen years and was teased for it. He felt the best way help me was to humiliate me constantly. I guess it felt better to someone else. Needless to say back against him.

As I work with obese adults, I hear similar stories about how their parents will perpetuate or even cause their obesity. Here are some of the reasons they give.

• The mother had major food issues, she passed

  This is normal. A mother who is obsessive of his own weight, and I speak of mothers who have ten to thirty pounds to lose, transfer This obsession with food on their children.

  Examples of this would be putting their daughters on strict diets when they are young and still have just as Fat Baby Pouchy. Mothers who obsess over weight often transfer for their children, especially their daughters. They want girls to have perfect small body or rationalize their dieting girls will all have to live this extra ten pounds that they feel prevents them from being perfect.

  This tends to turn and causes many eating disorders. Children rebels and the rebellion their relationship to food becomes asymmetric. Do not make your child afraid of food, instead of giving them healthy choices in abundance and understand that when they come out with their friends, whether it's a pizza party, they want to fit in and eat pizza, too.

• Parent in an attempt to help the fat child, having noted for special diets.

  Many clients have told me that in an attempt to help them when they were young, their parents had strict diets as early as ten years. Come the holidays when the brothers and sisters come to eat lots of good things, they came without sugar. No ten year old wants chocolate without sugar. Not only does it taste bad, it singles out the child to make him feel inferior.

  This behavior by parents is made for love, but it usually returns because when the child is old enough to buy their own modules, it will binging behavior. Instead of learning to enjoy one or two chocolates, she learned that to get to eat the good things it must do so in private not getting caught. This fear of getting caught means eating too fast and as she is afraid she will do so again fairly quickly.

  This type of behavior also causes shame. Once the shame and guilt associated with food, it is difficult to get back to eating properly. So many adults Use food to almost punish themselves. It's a love / hate relationship. And it is destructive in nature.

If you think you have to buy something in a bottle, let the water fancy expensive!

• Do not bring junk food in your house

  Save things like chips and cakes for special occasions. Put an end to their abuse in your home. Children who have larger appetites and love sugar, salt and fat will hunt down every morsel of food they can find. If you have not in the house so they have to eat healthy foods you. And when they do, do not shout at them to eat all your fruit, or taking the last piece of carrot you wanted for dinner.

• Learn the truth about the food you feed your family

  Do you know that one serving of spaghetti is 1 cup? Do you know what what a small amount of pasta that? Did you know that if you check the calories of bread that you can see a series of 50 calories per 150. Check out the fresh bread made at a local Health Store. Many are now manufactured without oil and calories are much lower. What a way to shaving 100 to 200 calories to your meal without the child ever know!

• Become an active family

  The children who are prone to obesity tend to be too athletic. The sport is not for everyone, but other things like riding a bike, hiking, and just shooting hoops in the evening may bring a new level of activity in a family. You do not bike expensive dating. Sign up for a race bike with pleasure to your children and then as a family to prepare. Children of all sizes love bikes. Hiking on the weekends to remote locations is very amusing. Give your child the cameras, they learn to identify animal tracks, make outdoor adventure a family. Once a child falls in love with nature, they are outside more often than not.

• Get rid of all the games except for Wii

  Make sure to get the Dance Floor, Outdoor and Accessories Fit Board. This new way to interact with video games is perfect for lazy child. Simply getting up to play, not tilted back on the couch is a plus. Top competitions family. Everyone is good at something. You skinny girl could rock the hula hoop, your son might thin be a fast runner, but your child could be heavy the best boxer in the family. These games are positive reinforcement. Even when a child comes into competition with himself, he is confident that will be linked to other areas of his life.

Being a boy overweight or obese or daughter is an anvil. Children do not understand why they want to eat more, they are doing. Do not blame yourself for this if you have no reason. As a professional kids entertainer and parent of four, I would like to share some of my experience with parents who are looking for entertainment for their kids party. Folks usually turn to professionals for solutions, they are willing to invest their hard earned cash to put on a kids party that would be fun and memorable for both their child and their guests alike. The purpose of this article is to shed some light on some key points to consider when hiring entertainment for your child’s party.

Age appropriate:

What is the age range of the kids that you are looking to entertain? Usually, a parent would want entertainment not only for their child but for the guests as well. We know that your child likes Elmo, but you have invited other kids to the party as well. You may want to consider entertainment that would cater to the appropriate age group invited as opposed to just the birthday child. A professional entertainer would know how to make the birthday child feel special without making the other kids feel not included.

A clown isn’t just a clown:

Please consider the person behind the make up. Performers vary greatly in approach and style. The best example is when people hire a costumed character, let’s say Elmo. (Kids require a lots of patience) Do they project a professional image? (Website, Demo, Costume etc.) Can you find reviews or testimonials on them? (Websites reviews, Local library reviews, etc.)

Budget:

Like any other service, you sometimes get what you pay for. Consider entertainment into your budget, a good entertainer can make your party all the worthwhile. It’s not about quantity, it’s about quality. If you want someone to do a magic show, a puppet show, sculpt balloon animals and do face painting for $150, then hire your neighbor’s teenage son. Make sure to give him a $50 advance to get the supplies from the dollar store. But if you want a professional, make sure that they are specialized in their field and they are at the top of their game.

Logistics:

Consider to ask the performer these logistical questions before you commit: How much space do you need? Can you perform indoors and outdoors? Do you provide your own sound equipment? What do you need us to prepare for your act?

Are outdoor pesticides safe for children/pets?

Our pest control service company that sprays our home/yard for bugs claims that all their pesticides are safe for kids/pets. I didn’t have the inside of my house sprayed because it’s not worth the risk with my toddlers home. I also put my pet inside while they were spraying. However, I’m wondering if it’s safe for my pet to be in the yard. If not, how long should I wait before letting her out in the yard again. She is NOT an indoor dog so I can’t just let her stay in the house indefinitely. She will have to go out for “business” anyway, but I’m worried about leaving her outside. I know they sprinkled granules and I’m wondering if it’s something a dog would eat or if it could hurt her if she gets it on her coat. Any help?

You can/should ask the pest control service for the MSDS (material saftey data sheet) for the chemicals they use. The MSDS will list the hazards. Keep in mind that the MSDS is really meant for people who work with these chemicals and the dangers are from repeated exposure.
