My husband supervises a landscape company, he suggests dwarf Ixoras.

  2. You can use annuals for color. If you want something more lasting, you can use most any broadleaf plant assuming you are in at least a sub-tropical climate; zone 8b or more US. Philodendron Selloum is good, giant bird of paradise as well. Or you could go with ferny stuff like Yarrow. Or even mix them up for a cottage garden look with guara, monarda and variegated ginger. Have fun.

I have bird of paradise planted with mine. The trees have grown tall and the beautiful leaves of the bop provide a gorgeous contrast. I also have katy ruella and fern planted around the bottom. I love the tropical look of it all.

  4. MAYBE A HIBISCUS IN FULL SUN, OR A BIRDS OF PARADISE. ALSO CAMMELLIAS ARE NICE EVERGREENS
