Will my queen palm attract scorpions?
November 9th, 2009 WalterI live in Phoenix and I just bought a queen palm for my patio. I have been told at the time the fruit is produced certain insects and arachnids are attracted. I really hope it doesn’t because my apartment has been pest-free and I would like to keep it that way.

keep your new tree pruned annually, cut off all the dead fronds, it can be done with a small hand saw. the bugs, scorpions and birds are attracted to the hanging fronds as they provide good cover and a cool place for them, I live in Globe and run the tree service here, we do not find pests in well manucured trees, only in the ones that have been let go for a year or more
