Shaving my cat?
My cat domestic longhair (only indoors) was a terrible great mat on his back that can be brushed, so we took a appointment to have shaved tomorrow. It seems that a reduction lion is standard, but I want to know if there are other ways to make cut hair. Our main concern is comfort, but I think the lion could cut like ridiculous on him.
I have long hair both inside and the lion cut is standard, you can request changes to the cup to your taste. I wanted something different, but all they offered. I have a wife, I decided to cut the lions, so it was shorter fur around the neck and less around his legs, so I did not look jester. She loved him. She pranced around as if it was the best thing since tuna. I think they appreciate fur real lift. It may be warm in the summer and I think it is tedious to maintain them. It's hard for us to maintain so you can imagine how they feel. 
If you want an alternative to shaving, you can buy a FURminator. I also have one of them I use during the winter months, or when I choose not to shave. It actually works quite well this year, but you'll be more diligent during the summer months or excretion. See their website to learn more about it.
